PSJA Principal Honors Campus Namesake Through Children’s Book

PHARR – Principal of Allen & William Arnold Elementary in Pharr, TX, Ernesto Dueñas is honoring the legacy of the campus namesakes Allen & William Arnold through a newly written children’s book dedicated to their lives and contributions as South Texas Citrus Farmers.

“Writing this book was something I had wanted to do for some time now,” said Dueñas. “I noticed that a lot of our students didn’t know who Allen & William Arnold were so to be able to provide them with the history of their campus namesakes in a fun and interactive way helps bring pride to our school as our students walk the halls every day.”

The children’s book titled “The Arnold Brothers Citrus Titans of the Rio Grande Valley,” written and illustrated by Dueñas highlights the Arnold brothers working side by side on their family farm, growing citrus, caring for the land, and building a legacy rooted in hard work, perseverance, and a deep commitment to their community.

Their story reflects the values that continue to inspire students and families today.
